I hope your Monday has been good! Just wanted to share an act of love that God challenged me to do today. I got into a taxi after school, with a very nice uncle asking me about my destination. He spoke with a very husky voice and apologised for sounding like ” The Godfather”. haha. that really started the ball rolling, and at that moment, i knew it was an opportunity to touch his life by just a casual conversation. I started asking him questions about his life, and what happened to his voice. Apparently, in order to save his life, the doctor had to do some sort of operation on him and that caused his vocal chords to be affected quite badly. He mentioned that it was very unexpected, and commented , ” from a normal person, to someone who cant talk properly, thats life.”. We further continued talking about family and relationships, whereby he shared that there were times when he gets lonely, seeing his siblings starting their own family and all, leaving him quite alone at times. He had to sell his house away to pay for the operation and is currently staying with his sister. he gave me advice about life and his desire for a family was evident as he mentioned ” i treat you like a daughter thats why im telling you all these things.”. He offered to wave charges off my cab fare but i insisted not to. I kept praying in tngues the whole ride, asking God to open his heart to prayer at the end of the journey. And so, upon arrival, i paid him the money and said ” uncle, is it okay if i pray for you? im a christian and i believe in Jesus Christ.” I asked him about his faith, he looked at the idol hung on his mirror, touched it and said ” yah i think im a buddhist”. But he wanted me to pray for him anyway. As i prayed for healing and his family, i sensed such a peace that came over. i invited him to our church’s anniversary and he was beaming with gratefulness for the conversation, prayer and invitation, mentioning that he will try to go if hes not working. During my afternoon nap, I had spiritual attacks, and i knew instantly that the gesture helped make God’s kingdom progress, and the devil is threatened.. So heres a challenge, to reach out to someone during this week! Hope to hear stories from you guys! Constance Kheng
