Usual Tuesday Staff Lunch, we decided to go for some fish soup at macpherson area.
As we were talking and fellowshiping, an old lady caught my attention. She is one of those elderly who go in and out from house to collect carton boxes and empty can tins with a dull countenance. I felt a prompting of the Holy Spirit to go and help her out and to pray for her.
A few of us went up to her to help her out by packing the boxes. We tried speaking to her but she mentioned to us that she couldn’t hear. I tried to convey to her if we could pray for her by using hand signals but she couldn’t really get it. She mentioned that she was hungry, so I got Constance to go and get her a packet of mixed rice with 2 meat and 1 veg but she insisted that it was alright and she had food at home.
After which we went back to the table to join the rest. I felt so unfulfilled and powerless because we met a deaf woman and yet I couldn’t do anything about it. I felt the prompting to get her the rice, and have the faith to believe that after consuming the food she would get healed! Amen!
Upon getting te food, she happened to make her departure, leaving with her bicycle. Uncle John and Constance tried to call her back by running after her because she couldnt hear them. Constance managed to pass the food to her and
Before she looked, waved and smiled at us and left. she looked slightly different before we went to talk to her. I think we made her day! =)
