Aloysious and myself were on our way back from Jason’s aunt’s wake. About 5 seats away from us was a very feminine guy, of course, he caught our attention. We didn’t say much for the first 5 minutes, but suddenly a prompting of the Holy Spirit hit me.
I turned to Aloy and said ” lets do something ” and he immediately agreed, saying ” YAH! i also felt the spirit prompting me leh! ” At the moment, we felt abit loss and apprehensive of what was to come and how to go about starting a conversation. We had nothing at hand to start any conversation whatsoever. We frantically searched our bags for some City church name card or sth, but needless to say, we had nothing at hand. We decided to speak to him outside the train so it wouldn’t be that intimidating with all ears around us. Intentionally, we missed our stops to get the chance to speak to him. On that train, we prepared a letter with the sinner’s prayer written on it, just in case he wasn’t saved and wanted to be.
Finally, he reached his stop and we rushed out with all our stuff in hand and ran towards him before he tapped out. We introduced ourselves and shared with him what God placed on our hearts. We basically told him about the love of God. Short and sweet, we ended by finding out that he was from a church nearby and was open to prayers. There and then, at the mrt station, we managed to pray for him and walked away feeling fulfilled. He seemed grateful for the prayer.
If your’e looking for some climax ( or maybe not haha), aloysious turned to me and said ” hey cons! i think that was a girl! why were u addressing her as a HE in your prayers? I even recorded down your prayer in my iphone, you listen! ” I couldn’t help but burst out laughing. To cut my whole embarrassing moment and thoughts of doubt short, i remembered his name and was very sure he was a guy! But yes, at that moment when i thought i might have gotten it all wrong,i realized stepping out brings you to places of uncertainty and sometimes even failures.
But thank God we got it right. haha. lesson learnt, lesson noted in the adventure :)
